Bathing Dog - Easy Tips

 Rottweiler Bathing Tips

Rottweiler / Dog BathingThere is nothing better that a groomed dog in your house, but to keep it clean you have to bath them.

For some dogs it is easy since they enjoy being bathed, but for others it can be boring and very stressful.

Here are some tips that teach you how to bathe a dog easily.

1.
Start bathing your dog when he is puppy so bath time will be much easier later.

2. Help your dog learn to trust you through actions such as handling the ears, touching the paws, or opening his mouth several times a day.

3.
Always use a good brushing comb to remove all dead hairs.

4. Always use a dog shampoo because using a human shampoo can upset the balance of a dog's skin. The pH of dog skin is very different from human skin. Human skin has a pH of around 5.5 to 5.6 while dog's skin has a pH of between 6.2 and 7.4.

5.

Always be very careful not to get water or shampoo into your dog’s eyes and ears during the bath time.

6. Always make sure the water temperature is lukewarm to protect their skin and coat.

Best Ways To Stop Dog Barking

Rottweiler / Dog BarkingMost of the dogs bark for a good reason but there are some of them who bark for absolutely no reason. Sometimes no matter how much we try to train our dogs not to do it, we can never achieve our goal. There are lot's of ways to train your dog to stop barking.

Here's a list of techniques that can be very successful and can help you to stop your dog from barking.

Ignore the barking -
Your dog will get tired, so if you do nothing when he barks, he will likely stop barking.

Find a Replacement Behavior -  Start playing with your dog, or teach them something new when they bark. This way your dog will learn something new and useful and hopefully will find the new behaviour better and after sometime forget barking.

Bark on command
Teach your dog the so called 'speak' command, wait for him to bark two or three times, and then give him his treat.

Teach your dog the 'quiet' command
-
After your dog learns the 'speak' command, now it's the time to teach him the 'quiet' command,
when your dog start barking say "quiet" until he stops barking, repeat command several times and give him a treat.

Use his favorite toys - Keep one of the dog's favourite toys and train your dog to pick it up when a guest comes. He will be less likely to bark when he is with his favourite toy in his mouth.

Control Request Barking -  Be careful. Do not allow his treat request barking fool you, You know better when should he eat, and how much.

Rottweiler herding cattle

Rottweiler is one of the oldest European stock dogs, they have a natural herding instinct, they were originally used by the Roman legions to drive the cattle brought by them to feed their soldiers.

When working with cattle the Rottweiler shows a gathering/fetching style and reams directions easily, they also searches out the dominant animal and challenges it, upon proving its control over that animal it settles back and tends to its work.

If Rottweilers are trained properly then you really should have no problem with dominance, however in some cases Rottweilers have begun herding cattle without any experience at all.

They are extremely intelligent, strong, tough, alert and willing to work. In this video you can see Rottweiler herding cattle test filmed in New Zealand.
