Rottweilers rescues the life of a 80 years old pensioner woman !

Four Rottweiler dogs ran to the rescue a confused old woman who had been trapped in a school playing field for more than 15 hours.

The dogs named, Tillie, Billy, Gerrard and May were being walked at around 1.20 am, by David Malt and Jack, his nephew.

The pair often take the dogs out when the field is empty, because of public perceptions about this dogs breed aggressiveness.

They found the 80 years old woman shivering and in a panicking state in a Cheltenham school playing field after their owners took them out for the walk. The four dogs noticed the presence of the old woman when they were released into Bournside School playing field by the owners. Tillie, one of the dogs licked the woman and stayed with her until her human owners caught up because they suspected the dogs had found something and went to investigate.

The 80 years old woman was in danger of being stranded all night but was later taken to hospital, where she was treated. After being treated the woman told that she got off the bus at the wrong stop, had fallen and was trapped in a bush, she later thanked the owners and the dogs for their help..

Once again, you can see the true nature of Rottweilers, this dog breed does not have a great reputation, but they're really protective, and were originally bred as working dogs.

Rottweilers cause trouble inside the house and destroy christmass tree !

It is very important for Rottweilers dogs to live in the home with their people because if they are left alone in a backyard all the time, they can become bored, destructive, and aggressive.

Although they're large dog breed, Rottweilers are inactive indoors, It is highly preferable for you to tell the breeder what kind of energy level suits you so they can help you to choose the best puppy for your lifestyle.

In this video you can see two 'troublemakers' who destroyed the christmas tree during the time the owner went to do some christmas shopping...

Obesity in Rottweilers & How to Prevent it !

Obesity in Rottweilers
One of the best ways to prevent your Rottweiler's health problems is to keep his weight in a healthy level.

Obesity in puppies

Even if your Rottweiler is a puppy it must always be in a good trim form, not too fat. The weight in an abnormal level can cause the puppy stress and serious bone problems.
Puppies should be fed three times a day until they are 6 months old, after they are six months old you can feed them two times a day.
The feeding time is important, it is highly suggested that the time should be spread equaly. For example, 7 AM - 1 PM - 7 PM.

Preventing Obesity

The best way to prevent your dog's obesity is keeping them active with excercises and to keep a good feeding schedule, do not ever over-feed your dog. Also note that the excessive amounts of fat and calories in human foods can easily lead to obesity in dogs.

The ideal Rottweiler weight

The ideal weight is between 50 to 60 kg (110–132 lbs) for males Rotties and 35–48 kg (77–105 lbs) for females. Weight must be relative to height.

Guardian Rottweiler - Best for house protection !

When it comes to home guard dogs, Rottweiler dog breed is one of the best. If you want a dog that is confident, and capable of seeing off any potential unwanted visitors, this is the right breed for you.

Rottweiler dogs are known to be very territorial dogs and with general dog training guidelines and perhaps with a little more training on socializing and obedience training, the Rottweiler would be the best dog you can choose for home protection.

The Rottweiler breed is well known for their commitment to defend its land and its family in case of a potential aggressiveness by unknown people.

You should always train a Rottweiler dog no matter what you plan to use the breed for. Even if you want the dog to be a ferocious guard dog, you will need it to be friendly and obedient to you, so the Rottweiler dog isn't a breed that is prefered for the first time dog owners.

How to clean your Rottweiler's Teeth

Rottweiler's Teeth Why should you clean your dog's teeth

Dogs may not be prone to cavities as humans are, but still there are a lot of problems they can have. Plaque buildup and gingivitis are some of them, they not only make the dog have bad breath and yellow teeth but just like in humans they can cause the dog serious infection that may lead to big issues. It is important for you to clean your dog's teeth to prevent these kind of problems.

How to brush my dog's teeth

It is important to start at an early age so the dog can be used to the process easly, but you can start cleaning your dogs teeth even if you haven't started when they were puppies.
-The first step you should do is, place a little dog toothpaste in your finger and let the dog lick it so he can get used to.
-The second step is placing some of the paste in the dogs teeth, repeat this process for several days so the dog can get used with something placed in his teeth.
-The third step is placing some dog toothpaste in the toothbursh and just let the dog lick it, reward the dog after this process.
-The four step is the final one, you should gently hold your dog's lips and hold the brush at a 45 degree angle to the gumline. Brush each tooth, moving the brush gently back and forth. In the first times brush only several teeth, and start increasing the number in the next times. After the process reward the dog.

How often should i clean my dog's teeth

It is prefered to clean the dog's teeth every day, but if that's not possible at least several times a week is prefered. There are dental care products like chew toys and dental diets that help you provide your dog with dental care.

Can i use human toothpaste to clean my dog's teeth

DO NOT EVER, human toothpaste contains fluoride that is very poising for dogs. Always use special pet toothbrush.

Rottweiler Protects Family From a Potential Hijack Situation

Rottweiler is known as one of the best guardian dog breeds.

In its early days the breed was better known for protecting cattle instead of land or people.

During the time the breed has evolved and the breed has been bred specifically to guard and protect property and that has led to a larger, more muscular dog

In this video posted by the owner of a Rottweiler, you can see the protective nature of the Rottweiler, but in this case the dog missunderstands the situation attacking the mailman because the dog recognised the situation as a hijacking one.

Rottweiler LifeSpan - How long does Rottweiler live ??

How long does Rottweiler Live ?

rottweiler life span - help live longerRottweiler is a is a medium/large size breed of domestic dog, so their average lifespan is not very long (14,15 or 20 years) as in small dogs.

Studies and breed surveys in US, UK show that a healthy averaged size Rottweiler dog lives an avarage of 8 to 12 years and it is common that female Rottweiler dog lives an average 2 years longer that a male Rottweiler dog.

Some Rottweilers live for a longer time and many others die earlier.

Every Rottweiler is an individual and has their own health challenges, so there's no one-size-fits-all figure. It could be worse (many large sized dog breeds have even a shorter lifespan, such as the Irish Wolfhound who only has an average lifespan of between 6 and 8 years, the same for the Great Dane) but it's definitely not great.

How to help your Rottweiler live longer ?

- The first and maybe the most important thing to help your Rottweiler have a healthy and long life is to make sure he gets vaccinated on time and that he completes the full set of required vaccination during his life.

- Consult the vet regularly on how to keep your Rottweiler free from canine parasites such as worms.

- Feed your Rottweiler puppy only the best balanced premium food.

- Monitor your dogs diet and exercise while growing up so the dog won't get 'too fat'.

- And also an important thing is to get help quickly if you are concerned about your Rottie's health at any time so you will have a healthy friend for a long time.

Brutus, the Rottweiler is the world's second dog ever to walk in prostethic legs!!

Brutus, the 2-year-old Rottweiler who lives in Colorado (USA) has become the second known dog ever to receive four prosthetic limbs.

This cute Rottweiler became disabled after he  was left outside in cold weather by his breeder when he was young and got frostbite on all four paws and was maimed by his breeder, who tried to amputate the damage at home but left Brutus even more brutalized.

The Rottweiler underwent surgery to mitigate the damage at a Colorado Hospital but was left without paws and with misaligned legs still, something that made it difficult for him to walk, let alone run.

The Rottweiler's new owner, Laura Aquilina started a funding campaign, which raised more than $12,000 that was enough for a company called OrthoPets to create new prosthetic legs for Brutus and for his physical therapy.

Laura Aquilina, the dog owner, who is training the dog so he can get used to a life with artificial limbs said:

'You can't explain to an animal why you are putting these contraptions on their feet, and that you're doing it because it is to help them ' she told Fox 31 Denver.

'If he ended up in a shelter they'd say he was unadoptable because he's missing his feet,' she said.  I think its good for people to know we can work with animals like this.'

A Little Terrier Got This Rottweiler Pregnant !!!

Teresa Patterson, from Yorkshire in the UK (owner of both Joey the terrier and Zara the Rottweiler) was surprised when she found out that her two dogs had mated and said she had no clue it had even happened until 11 puppies were born!!

“I was completely shocked,” Patterson said. “I didn’t think nature would let this happen but at some point it did.

The puppies have a lovely temperament like their parents. . One of the puppies, Sparkie, which our son is having, follows me everywhere I go. But this won’t happen again – Joey will be going to the vets soon.”

After the litter arrived in the summer four-year-old mother Zara lost interest, leaving Joey, one, to take care of them. Sadly, four of the puppies died and Ms Patterson was forced to step in when Zara refused to feed.

She fed the seven remaining animals Weetabix and scrambled egg to keep them strong, and even gave them Horlicks to help them sleep. The puppies are adorable...
