Rottweiler dogs are known to be very territorial dogs and with general dog training guidelines and perhaps with a little more training on socializing and obedience training, the Rottweiler would be the best dog you can choose for home protection.
You should always train a Rottweiler dog no matter what you plan to use the breed for. Even if you want the dog to be a ferocious guard dog, you will need it to be friendly and obedient to you, so the Rottweiler dog isn't a breed that is prefered for the first time dog owners.

Had these dogs for over 20 years. Love and loyalty in a BIG package, but not appropriate for everyone. This is a handlers dog, not for the meek and mild.
Best rounded breed ive had the honor of raising 6 of them. Best family dog if trained correctly. The only problem is they dont live long. I miss everyone that has passed.
